MOTHER EARTH!

You have been here
In eternity’s past
In times yet to come
You will be
I shall not
I shall be
The one time forgot
O Earth!
You remain
Silent spectator
Standing strong
Thru mist and dark
Fearing nothing
Tranquil
Neath your carpet of grass
And deep deep seas
Eternally flowing…
How I wish
I could be like you
Defiant and bold
Dominant against
Wind and cold
Dust and ash
Thorn and fire!
I sigh as I wither
Wilt even as I take charge
Of my march through life
Fooling me
I shall victorious
For I shall one day
Lie still neath you
Flowers at my grave
While you bear it all
And yet stand tall
Taking it all in
Patient
Unflinching
Truly a loving Mother!
